About Westlake Wanderer

Westlake Wanderer is a community-based journalism platform chronicling the goings-on in Westlake and its surrounding communities since January 2020.

Alicia, citizen reporter and the voice behind Westlake Wanderer, has lived in all corners of the country. She settled into her dream home in the Hammocks in December of 2018 and has proudly, and happily, called Westlake home ever since.

While not a journalist by profession, Alicia is curious by nature. Westlake is a rare, built-from-the-ground-up city, and like many residents, she wanted to better understand how it works, how it’s growing, and how those changes affect the people who live here. Westlake Wanderer was created to share what our community has learned along the way, with the care, honesty, and focus only a fellow resident can provide.

Westlake Wanderer is fully independent.

There is no affiliation with the City of Westlake government, Minto, or any commercial or residential developers. Everything shared here comes from the perspective of a resident who values accurate information, community connection, and thoughtful storytelling.

Simply put, Westlake Wanderer is your own neighbor documenting happenings in western Palm Beach County as it continues to grow, one blog post at a time.
