Seminole Improvement District (SID) is the entity that caretakes the infrastructure and drainage in the City of Westlake with the exception of the community HOA hardscaping and SPW which is a county road. It’s complicated.
1) IT’S NOT A LANE! – I imagine this said in a squeaky, exasperated Seinfeld voice. Between Publix and 7-Eleven 2.0, there is a mystery east-heading lane on Persimmon on the west side of SPW that drivers are using as a left turn lane and/or a straight ahead lane. But this lane is NOT a lane at all, never has been. The faded diagonal stripes that say as much are scheduled to be repainted soon. In the meantime, stay alert! Well, always stay alert, I guess.

2) SOUTHWEST CORNER OF SEMINOLE PRATT WHITNEY AND 60TH ST N – is due for a new residential Minto community, eventually. This is the parcel immediately north of the forthcoming Lowe’s and could include Minto’s cottage models which are cute duplex-type homes. See item 3 here for details on these creative cottages.

3) SID’S NEW DIGS – west of HEW Fitness and seen clearly from the Tractor Supply Co. parking lot is due soon! It’s expected end of June through mid July.
4) 5,950 REGISTERED VOTERS – are in the district (SID, but I think this also pretty much means in the City of Westlake) for our upcoming SID elections. Secretary Leolani Gevers’ Seat #1 is up in June after her three year term. Ms. Gevers is a Minto Communities USA employee. I have not heard that anyone is running against her though.
