SID Vice President Zane Beard was absent.
1) A MONSTER POTHOLE – outside of the Meadows on Town Center Parkway ate up our neighbor Carlos’ tire Saturday 10/3 and was cut out (i.e., sawed out, cleaned and refilled) by SID Monday 10/5. It’s the rain and the pretty archaic, inadequate state of road pavement technology. All this rain has been washing away our roads. See item 3 below for how to contact SID if you encounter something like this. Thanks to Carlos Aristizabal for the photo documentation!

2) CHEVRON LINES – were painted a few days ago in that non-lane on Persimmon Blvd heading east over Seminole Pratt Whitney Rd. And then… suddenly started disappearing right before our very eyes, peeling right off the road. Not to worry, they’ll be repainted and repainted and so on and so forth until they stay put. In the meantime, it’s not a lane (in Seinfeld voice)!

3) CONTACT SID – via phone, email, and/or form submission on their website. Just take 20 seconds right now to save SID’s phone number to your contacts: 561-790-1742.
A call service is set up to catch EMERGENCY voicemails on the weekends. That call service then alerts a pretty tight team of SID employees who triage the issue to someone from there. I think “emergency” in this case probably means flooding of some sort. But if I got a busted up tire and wheel from a pothole on a SID road, I’d absolutely let them know about that. At least a pylon could be placed to alert drivers of the hazard. (Natural gas issue?! Call FPU or 911!) (Power outage? Contact FPL.) (Pothole within your neighborhood gates? Your neighborhood HOA.) (Also SPW is a county road, so contact PBC for issues concerning SPW.)
4) SID WEBSITE – SID’s poor old HTML website is on its last legs, just limping along. But not to fear, SID has engaged the same developer who mans the City of Westlake’ss website. Hopefully this new site will be up within a couple of months, and it’ll be mobile-friendly and more easily (and, regularly) updated.
5) RFPs FOR PARK PHASE I – as outlined in item 2 of this POST, RFPs went out for completion of our big park’s Phase I. This is mostly laying out the utilites, the entrances and the parking lot of the park. Seven contractors made bids. Hopefully we’ll have more knowledge of who won out at November’s SID meeting.
6) SANDGLASS RESIDENTIAL – is continuing progress in that northwestern edge of our forthcoming Lowe’s. Refresh your memories about Sandglass HERE. And Lowe’s HERE.
7) WELLS FARGO – is supposed to be on November’s Agenda. What that means, I don’t know yet. I forgot to ask. But I’ll make sure to ask at tonight’s City Council meeting.
