Remember when the Cresswind Women’s Club (CWC) was looking for scholarship applicants in April? Well, they’ve already awarded their recipients!
This is the CWC’s 2nd year to include a scholarship award program in their annual budget for students who will attend a Florida college, university or trade school. This charitable endeavor aligns with the CWC’s Mission Statement which includes supporting Westlake and its surrounding communities.
At their May 15th membership meeting, Luke Vento & Kailey Bigwood each received a $1000 scholarship to further their educations here in The Sunshine State.
LUKE will be attending Palm Beach State College to enroll in the Police Academy and play baseball. He will major in Criminal Justice earning his associate’s degree for his pursuit in Law Enforcement.
KAILEY will study biology at Florida State University as a first step on her path to medical school. Kailey is committed to serving Florida’s underserved and rural communities with unsurpassed and accessible care.
These scholarships were made a reality thanks to fundraising efforts by the dedicated CWC members and the efforts of their Scholarship Committee.
This Scholarship Committee is comprised of seven members (Committee Chair Coleen Forlizzi, Bunnye Bomar, Esther Diaz, Barbara Jette, Marie Ange Johnson, Anita Kaplan and Debbie Schlau) who received and reviewed several applications submitted through the Seminole Ridge High School’s website. The Cresswind Women’s Club sincerely thanks all applicants for their submissions and the entire Cresswind community for their ongoing support and generosity.
The CWC is committed to this scholarship award program going forward. So watch out for the 2026 application next spring if you have or are a rising senior at Seminole Ridge High School!
