Education Advisory Board Meeting – March 2026

Education Advisory Board Meeting – March 2026
The next Education Advisory Board (EAB) meeting is scheduled for Thursday April 30th.

1) CARMELA COFFEE SPIRIT FUNDRAISER – held February 11th for Seminole Ridge High School earned $79.25! Thank you so much to everyone who participated!

The Board is looking for other ways to fundraise for our schools, like 50/50 raffles at Westlake’s city events like SpringFest, FourthFest, etc.

If any of you teachers or admins, even parents, have creative fundraising ideas or school NEEDS, please reach out to Vice Mayor Greg Langowski, the EAB liaison, at glangowski@westlakegov.com.

2) VOLUNTEERING – the EAB is looking to explore volunteer opportunities at city-limits schools: Golden Grove Elementary, Western Pines Middle School, and Seminole Ridge High School. The Board members themselves are hoping to volunteer, but also to help spread the word for these schools’ needs. Watch for that.

3) WESTLAKE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – is expected (key word!) to break ground Thursday April 30th, between 9 and 1030AM! The same day of the next scheduled EAB meeting. Click here for more details on this elementary school, including expected construction traffic.

4) SEMINOLE RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL’S – dual enrollment grads are going to be recognized by the City of Westlake! These grads are going to be invited to May’s City Council meeting, on Cinco de Mayo. These students have worked HARD over their four years for quite the impressive accomplishment.
